A ‘lesson’ on the importance of PATIENT faith!

As I came to the end of my morning reading of Psalm 106, I could but proclaim ‘Wow!’ ‘Wow!’ ‘Wow!’ – such was the force of its awesome instructive warning to my innermost heart.  This was especially so as I took in verses 13-15:

They soon forgot His works;
They did not wait for His counsel,
 But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness,
And tested God in the desert.
And He gave them their request,
But sent leanness into their soul.

My ‘lesson’?

WAIT ON THE LORD IN PATIENT FAITH!

As I was writing up the above entry in my journal afterwards, the Scripture which came to my heart just then were the words of Lord Yeshua, as recorded at Matthew 6:32b-33:

“…..For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

God knows what we have need of, even before we ask it!

In bringing our petitions before our Father in heaven, may we be enabled by His Spirit to increasingly rest in Him through our Lord Yeshua, patiently waiting in faith on His will and His way for us concerning those petitions, rather than insisting on our own way and our own time.  How dreadful to be given what amounts to a lust of an impatient demanding heart which has forgotten that in so doing it will bring with it spiritual ‘leanness’ into our souls!  This was timely lesson for me on the importance of patient faith.

May it bless you too.
