A moment of clarity! Yeshua is God.

I have been reading through John’s Gospel in my morning reading-through-the-Gospels time and reached chapter 17 a couple of days ago.  At times I re-read the same portion of Scripture the following morning either because of a definite sense of there being more for me to glean from it or not really being able to take in the light of truth of it.  It was the former as I reached the account of the true Lord’s prayer at John 17 and this morning came a really WOW!!! moment, as I was struck by an entirely different ‘theme’ than previously gleaned in the past days readings.

The “epiphany-like moment” came as I read the words of Yeshua, as recorded, at John 17:21 and came to the word “US” which immediately was followed by the impression on my heart of the same word in Genesis chapter 1.  I turned to read the passage at Genesis 1:26 and also went on to read verse 27 – and there it was.  The moment of clarity – Yeshua is God.  This morning I was struck with more certainty about this than ever.  The words of Yeshua at John 17:21 says this, “…that they all may be one, as You, Father are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in US, that the world may believe that You sent Me.” (underlined for emphasis)

This is what the Scripture records at Genesis 1:26-27, ‘Then God said, “Let US make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air , and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.’ (underlined for emphasis)

I was so awe-struck at how crystal clear this truth became in an instant, though I have long come to accept it but not without occasional doubts.  The mysteriousness of God revealed in Scripture as Father, Son and Holy Spirit yet one God will always remain a mystery this side of Heaven, nevertheless the truth stands.  Yeshua is God.

John 1:1 also came to my heart, as though underlining this renewed and clarified heavenly light, which teaches us this: ‘In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.’  The Word of God, of course, in Yeshua the Messiah as the rest of the chapter reveals.  I don’t understand it  – but I do believe this with my whole heart.  This too, I know, is the grace of God.

Glory be to Almighty God, my heavenly Father and His Son, Lord Yeshua the Messiah forever and ever. Amen.  I am so thankful for heavenly instruction and edification through the Spirit of God in the word of God this morning bringing clarity I was even aware I needed but I’m so grateful to have received.  May you be built up in this truth too.  God bless you.
