Hallelujah! A short time ago my church fellowship just finished our bible-study time. Afterwards one of the brothers was sharing about how the Father graciously showed him mercy in a long awaited, much prayed- for desire for a good resolution to a significant issue in his life. He shared the two Scriptures in the Gospel of John which he recently read to his mother, who is an unbeliever, and this led to spontaneous prayer for him and his family. In the midst of this a Scripture struck me deeply and though I waited for space to share, it continues it seems to be a season for others to speak, share and pray and for me to silently listen and/or silently pray in the background. This particular Scripture stayed with me and led me to recall how I have been so struck recently with the everlastingness of Almighty God as I savoured the words of Lord Yeshua, as recorded, at John 5:24:
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.”
This has long been a precious Scripture to me, but tonight it just seemed to sink in that much deeper and be that much richer in instructive comfort. Everlasting indeed means everlasting! I didn’t get to share it with the brethren in my local church fellowship, but I just had to share it with someone – so I share it with you, the wider Body of Messiah. May Almighty God, the heavenly Father be pleased to bless it to you as deep comfort in and through His Son, Messiah Yeshua the Lord by His Holy Spirit.
Shalom.
