How is your conscience?

How is it with your soul?

When was the last time you heard a Pastor/Teacher ask his flock that question?  I find the more I continue on in the faith of Lord Yeshua, reading and feeding on the Scriptures that question is never far in the background of my thoughts – though I would wish it be in the foreground more often in my day to day life!

But what about your conscience?

It’s a hard thing to ask another person about their conscience as it is very rare that you would be able to do this without coming across judgmental and accusatory, especially where there is no apparent cause.  Nevertheless, I take boldness to ask having been prompted to ask my self that very question in a recent reading through the book of Acts.  As I came to Acts 24:15-16 the words of the Apostle Paul struck, stirred and convicted me as they sunk in and I began to think on the significance – personally – of what he said.

‘I have hope in God, which they themselves also accept, that there will be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and the unjust.  This being so, I myself always strive to have a conscience without offense toward God and men.

Always strive”?  May Almighty God help me to repent and do likewise. What say you?

God bless you.
