It’s very grim indeed – but…

What a world we live in! So much is going on – not least in Israel as she battles the unjust war against her on multi levels, within and without by it bitter, implacable enemies; in the wider Middle East; on the African continent where Christians are violently slaughtered for their faith in Lord Yeshua and their corrupt governments do little to helps; let alone Russia and Ukraine; let alone various parts of Asia and the colossal breakdown of Western cultural norms through the rise of the darkness of immorality, gross perversion, atheistic humanism in the vacuum of increasing godlessness. We see also the rise of a violent, satanic “goat religion” craftily attempting to speak like a lamb and challenge and dominate the residual Judeo-Christian underpinnings in once significant Western nations.  We see the rulers of these Western nations largely increasingly foolish, blind, duped and duplicitous, weak and cowardly in the face of this onslaught in their haste to serve globalist agendas and decrees.  Economies of many so-called powerful nations are said to be as castles on the sand in actuality.  Disease and threats of diseases, more threats of wars and preparations for these, mental health fragility increasing and affecting younger and younger individuals.   Wherever you honestly look with eyes to see, there seems to be few nations untouched by war or conflict, environmental disasters and uncertainty, a rise in violence, crime, illnesses, economic uncertainty and moral degradation of varying degrees.  The nations are under increasing judgments of the Lord in that we see more and more of His ancient boundaries for mankind being removed as more and more nations cast off God, His word and the light which comes from Him.  It’s very grim indeed!  As I thought on all these things one morning, it was no wonder, I considered, that the Lord Yeshua warned His disciples concerning the things to come upon the world: “But he who endures to the end shall be saved” (Matthew 24:13).

Thank God for Messiah Yeshua, who is our safety, strength, security and sound hope for endurance!  As Spirit-born children of God, in and through Lord Yeshua in whom we trust, we are kept safe.  No matter what comes upon this world.  Two Scriptures came effortlessly to mind as thoughts as above turned over in my mind:

Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling
And to present you faultless
Before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy,
To God our Saviour
Who alone is wise
Be glory and majesty
Dominion and power
Both now and forever
Amen
(Jude vs. 24-25)

and

God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble
Therefore we will not fear
Even though the earth be removed
And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
Though its waters roar and be troubled,
Though the mountains shake with its swelling.  Selah
(Psalm 46:1-3).

Moreover, after these came another promise of God, one always a deep comfort within when understood in its proper light: ‘kept by the power of God through faith….’ (1 Peter 1:5).

What blessings we are blessed with by the promises of God!  These are indeed very trying days that will not get better until Yeshua the Messiah returns – it is very grim indeed, but God our Father is in perfect, absolute, sovereign control over all things.  Let’s remember often and always, that not only are our times and seasons in His hands (Psalm 31:15a) but we ourselves are in the hand of God the Father.  John 10:27-30 records these words of the Lord Yeshua to us:

“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
And I give them eternal  life, and they shall never perish;
neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.
My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all;
and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.
I and My Father are one.”

It’s very grim indeed – but not for the Lord’s own sheep. It is true that the true faithful Church of God will see difficult and testing days ahead as we are purified ahead of His coming or call – but it is God our Father who does His work, in His children according to His faithfulness and love.  In everything we have Lord Yeshua with us always, until the very end (Matthew 28:20).  Hallelujah – what a Saviour!

Shalom in Messiah Yeshua.
